William Deresiewicz is an award-winning essayist, critic, and former English professor at Yale University. He is the author of five books, including the New York Times bestseller Excellent Sheep: The Miseducation of the American Elite and the Way to a Meaningful Life, and The End of Solitude: Selected Essays on Culture and Society . His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Harper’s Magazine, and other prestigious publications. Deresiewicz is a frequent speaker at colleges and other venues, addressing topics such as education, creativity, and the search for meaning in contemporary life. He is an advisor to the Prohuman Foundation.
